Walter and Jean were always a friend to Mom and Sparky. I bet you could say he was sparky’s favorite golfing partner. Together, they played COUNTLESS games of Uno at 1012 Jefferson. I am so very sorry to hear of Walter’s passing, and will pray that y’all draw close through the happy memories and your Faith. Much love form the Shults family.

I was truly saddened to see that Mr Campbell had passed away. I met him by chance several years ago at Triple Creek Park. I was on the job with Gallatin Police Department, making a pass through the park and saw him hitting golf balls in the field. I walked out and struck up a conversation with him and felt as if I got an instant friend. The few occasions I saw him since were always a highlight to my week. I got sick last July and have been unable to work since, so I haven’t been through the park anymore to see him there, and he is one of many I have missed. Mr Campbell was a true gentleman and I am grateful for our acquaintance.

Jean and family, I am sorry to hear of Walter’s passing. I didn’t see the obituary until after the funeral. Jean, we worked together at the News Examiner, you helped in laying out the Star News for me. We shared a lot of laughs and I remember Walter dropping by and his bright blue eyes twinkling with life!
