Ruth Arrington

Ms. Ruth “Dean” Arrington, age 96, of Castalian Springs, passed away on October 31, 2021. She was born on November 14, 1924 in Castalian Springs, TN to the late Henry and Ruth Suddarth. She is also preceded by her husband, Haward Arrington; and one sister, Doris Gregory.

Dean had a caring heart for helping others, who always wanted to make sure everyone was taken care of. She was a great cook, loved sewing, and refinishing antique furniture. Dean was a faithful member of Old Union Church of Christ for over 50 years, where her husband led the singing. She was truly an amazing mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be truly missed.

Dean is survived by her children, Jerry (Donna) Arrington and Pam (John) Jackson; grandchildren, Kristen (Seth) Kern and Michelle Pierce; great grandchildren, Maya McCloskey, Jase McCloskey, Scout McCloskey, Caroline Kern, and Pierce Kern. She is also survived by one sister, Katheryn Brown.

A life celebration will be held at 11am, Friday, November 5th in the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Family will receive friends from 4:30-6pm on Thursday evening and again one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will take place at Sumner Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations to be made to the Old Union Church of Christ, 2505 Hartsville Pike, Castalian Springs, TN 37031.
