Richard Henry Cox, 86, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025. Born September 5, 1938, in Goffstown, New Hampshire, he was the son of the late Henry and Blanche Cox.

Richard proudly retired as a steam engineer with the state of Tennessee, where he played a vital role in ensuring that the boilers ran efficiently in the state's hospitals and prisons. His commitment to his work exemplified a strong work ethic that was admired by all who knew him.

Before his esteemed career in engineering, Richard had the unique experience of working as a stunt driver for the circus, a role he cherished and often reminisced about with pride. His love for the arts extended beyond this adventurous chapter; he was an avid musician and possessed a remarkable talent for playing multiple instruments. Notably, he studied the violin at the prestigious Boston Conservatory of Music, further showcasing his passion for music.

A veteran of the National Guard, Richard served his country with honor, embodying the spirit of service that defined his character. His contributions extended beyond his professional life; he was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Gallatin and later Gallatin Church, where he fostered a sense of community and shared his devotion to faith with others.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dawn Susan Cox and their son Aaron Trevor Cox.

Richard is survived by his loving daughter, Heather Di Vincenzo and her husband James Baird, and his cherished grandson, Jameson Baird. His family, alongside his many friends, will remember him for his warmth, creativity, and unwavering support.
