Patsy Martin

Martin, Margaret Ann (Patsy) neé Carroll, Smith went to be with her Lord on July 3rd surrounded by her family and close friends at Sumner Regional Medical Center.

Patsy was born in Centerville, TN on Sept. 18, 1938.  She attended Hickman County High School and graduated salutatorian in 1956. She married Noel Preston Martin on November 28, 1980.

Patsy was predeceased in death by her parents, Cordelia Bates Carroll and John Frank Carroll, her sister, Judy Colson, and her daughter, Kathy Smith.

She is survived by her devoted husband, of 41 years, Noel Martin and lovingly  remembered by her daughter, Cindie Smith Wilson, stepchildren David Martin (Martha White), Deborah Martin Halbrooks (Rick Halbrooks), Terry Martin (Laura Martin) eight grandchildren and 14 great grand children

Patsy was a devoted member of Saundersville United Methodist Church and served with her husband as youth leaders for many years.  She was an avid follower of all Vanderbilt sports and Braves baseball. She and Noel enjoyed traveling the globe with family and friends.  She was a voracious reader, loved crosswords and board gaming.  She was an adoring and joyful MawMaw who reveled in spoiling all of them as often as possible.

Visitation is scheduled for 10 to 12 AM on Thursday, July 7th at Alexander Funeral Home in Gallatin, TN.  Funeral Service is scheduled for 3 PM at Saundersville United Methodist Church on the same date.  Burial will be in Rugby, TN on Friday at 2 PM CT/3 PM ET for family only.  Flowers are lovely, but donations are welcome to Saundersville United Methodist Church at 710 E. Main Street, Hendersonville, TN 37075.
