Nancy and I began our teaching career together at Howard Elementary in 1972 and we retired together in 2008. I have so many fond memories of Nancy through the years. She was an excellent teacher and she touched so many lives in a positive way. I am saddened by her passing but thankful for the fun times we had together. Nancy was so proud of her family and spoke of you often. May God bless each of you during this difficult time and may you be comforted by the cherished memories of your sweet mother.

Nancy was such a kind, loving and sweet person. She was my daughter Erica’s 1st grade teacher in 1984, and we continued a great friendship all these years. She was never my daughter Kelli’s teacher, but you would never know it. She took both of my girls under her wing and was a mentor for both. Whenever we ran into each other she never failed to ask about “her girls” and we would talk for at least 45 minutes catching up – wherever we were. I will miss her big smile, hugs and genuine love and affection. Rest in peace my friend. '-'-'-'-

I had the esteem pleasure of meeting Mrs. Nancy Williams in 1992 through Ms. Lynn Nystrom while we worked together in the Volstate Community College Bookstore. Our friendship continued as she became my granddaughter’s mentor/teacher at the Union Elementary Year Around School. The “cream of crop” teachers resided in the 1st year around school in Gallatin. Nancy was truly a pillar for this school and instrumental in helping all the children and parents in their educational endeavors. She loved and cared for every child attending the school.
I will miss her greatly but know that I will greet her again in eternity. To her husband and family, I send my sincere condolences. I shall cherish our humorous stories shared raising sons & and grandchildren. That beautiful smile and those caring eyes always captured our hearts as you made an entrance.
Nancy’s sense of humor was infectious and she never met a stranger. After meeting her you became a friend.

When I was about 6 years old my family went to the Spinks family for dinner I am trying to remember who was there, David Spinks worked with my father Owen Deathridge at TVA my brothers and sister and the Spinks children. Where all there. I remember leaving there that evening and remembered having a crush on one of the nice looking teenage girl. When we got hope my mother told me I had a crush on Nancy. I did not even know what a crush was I just knew I was in Love.
Later that summer she was my baby sitter for a few weeks. She took me swimming and to the park. I had lots of fun. Growing like I was I soon forgot my feelings and would only see her once and a long while . Tilt I was grown and married with children of my own. When my wife said that our son would be having Nancy for the first grade. I knew who
she was and then we went to meet her. I was so tickled to meet again and she was just as wonderful sweet and so caring and understanding as I remembered and she did so good with Jacob. We will miss you and love you Nancy. You have more than touched our lives. Our prayers are always with you. Mark,Renee,Jacob, and Luke Deathridge

The Peterson family will surely miss Nancy. Though my family has known her since I was a kid, I enjoyed her even more knowing her as an adult. She taught two of my kids and every time I'd see her she'd ask about all of my family members and then joyously tell me all about her grandkids, who were obviously the world to her, along with her kids and their spouses. It was easy to stop to say hello and end up talking for half an hour because she was so sweet and fun and interested in the well-being of others. We are going to miss those chats. Love to her family from Lucinda, Pete, Krista, Irion, Brooking, Isa and Levi

I moved in across the street from Nancy just 2 years ago. From day one, she made my son and I realize we picked the best place to live because of her kindness and warmth. She purchased a gorgeous pot of mums on behalf of the neighborhood and snuck it on my porch one day. I had no idea where it came from, but it made us feel so welcome! I soon got to know Nancy and enjoyed our little chats or waves from across the street. I feel blessed to have known her for just two short years – I really wish it was much more. May her beautiful soul rest in peace and her family find comfort in the wonderful years they got to spend together. The video showed what an amazing and fulfilling life she led and how she was so very loved by her family and friends. God rest her soul.
