Miriam “Mimi” Youngblood Jones, age 75, of Gallatin, TN, passed away on May 3rd, 2024, in Gallatin, TN. She was born on June 2nd, 1948, in Columbia, SC, to the late Erby and Thelma Youngblood. She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her son Ronald Joel Jones. Miriam is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years Ronald Jones of Gallatin, TN. She is also survived by her daughters Jennifer Jones of St. Petersburg, FL and Melissa Chompooming of Gallatin, TN. She also leaves behind her siblings Jimmy Youngblood of Lexington, SC, Billy Youngblood of Blythewood, SC and Sarah Nevarez of Sterling Heights Township, MI. She was also a grandmother to two cherished grandchildren Madison Harr and London Chompooming, who will miss their Mimi greatly.
She was a lifetime participant of the Jehovah’s Witness faith. She regularly attended services at Kingdom Hall in Gallatin, TN. As loyal servant of Jehovah God, she loved teaching others Bible truths and sharing her hope for a paradise earth. Her life-long goal was to spend as much time in the ministry as possible.She was a graduate of the 1966 class at University High School in Columbia, SC. A hardworking woman, she spent most of her career as an Optometric Assistant and was most recently employed by Donnelson Eye Care up until her retirement in 2010.
Miriam will be fondly remembered for her kind and welcoming personality. She loved singing, dancing, and visiting the beach. She was known for her fun and joyful spirit that brought light to those around her. One of Miriam's greatest joys in life was her family. Miriam and Ron married on June 24th, 1972. They spent over half a century together, raised a wonderful family, and nurtured future generations to come. Miriam adored her grandchildren and cherished spending time with loved ones. Her presence brought warmth and happiness to all who knew her.
A graveside service for Miriam Youngblood Jones will be held promptly at 2 PM on May 18th, 2024 at Sumner Memorial Gardens (located at 420 Albert Gallatin Ave., Gallatin, TN 37066). A reception will follow immediately after from 2:30 PM-5:00 PM at Alexander Funeral Home and Cremation Center (584 Nashville Pike, Gallatin, TN 37066).
