Gallatin, TN

Margaret Carol Culbreath, age 81, known to her loved ones as Carol, passed away on August 6, 2024, at 6:03 AM in Nashville, TN. She was born on May 25, 1943, in Gallatin, TN.

Carol led a remarkable life filled with love, family, and the simple joys that brought her happiness. She graduated from Gallatin High School and embarked on a career that led her to Schaffer’s Manufacturing Company in Gallatin, TN where she not only worked but also found the love of her life, Joe Culbreath. In 1973, Carol and Joe began their journey as a family, creating cherished memories with their loved ones.

Carol's warmth and kindness shone through in everything she did. Described as kind, loving, and caring. She was also described as a trustworthy, faithful, loyal, and thoughtful individual - she was the epitome of a loving mother and caretaker. Her son Marty said it best, “Carol was standard for what love should be.”

Among Carol's proudest accomplishments was her talent in the kitchen. She was renowned for her exceptional cooking skills; no one could make stuffing or egg salad quite like she could. Cooking for her family was not just a task but one of the ways she expressed her love. Away from the hustle and bustle of life, Carol found solace in the quiet moments spent on the porch with a cup of coffee in hand. Her hobbies mirrored her preference for a simple life filled with contentment.

In the words of those who knew her best, Carol's passing was described as "An angel went home to the heavens," signifying the graceful departure of a beloved soul.

Carol is preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years Joe David Culbreath, her parents Henry Simpson Jr. and Edna Link, brothers William Simpson and Richard Simpson, and her sisters Betty Coleman and Sue Deal. She is survived by her son Marty Culbreath, and her brothers Glen (Cathy) Simpson, David Simpson and Larry Simpson. She is also survived by her eleven nieces and nephews, as well as other family members and friends who will always carry her memory in their hearts.
