Joe Brown

Joe M. Brown, age 89 of Gallatin, passed away December 16, 2022.  He was born in Westmoreland, TN on May 10, 1933 to the late Earl and Bertha Brown.  He was preceded in death by his sister Marion Douglas Kirby, and brother, Gene W. Brown.  Joe is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Barbara Brown; sons, Keith (Dawn) Brown, and Kyle (Amy) Brown; grandchildren, Keaton, Karah, Austin, and Everett Brown; brother David Brown; sister, Fredia Crowe.  Joe was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a medic.  He was a member of the Gallatin Kiwanis, VFW, and Long Hollow Baptist Church.  He was most known for the many years he spent in education, mostly as Principal for Sumner County Schools before retiring after 29 years of faithful service.  Visitation will be at Alexander Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Gallatin, Monday, December 19 from 3-7 pm and Tuesday, December 20 from 11 AM until service at 1 PM.  Entombment with military honors will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
