Jerry “Buddy” Metcalf, Jr age 66 of Gallatin, Tennessee passed away at Sumner Regional Medical Center on Friday, September 20, 2024. Buddy was born on September 24, 1957. He graduated from Gallatin High School in 1975. He held the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America as an Eagle Scout. He was a Certified Red Cross Life Guard instructor and worked at the Gallatin City Pool, Gallatin Country Club and The Maples in Hendersonville, He worked at Metcalf Insurance Agency until he pursued a career as a Travel Agent. He worked as a personal Travel Agent and then moved to Corporate Travel. He took pride in good customer service. In his spare time he enjoyed entertaining his family and friends and cheering on The Tennessee Volunteers. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his mother, Shirley Metcalf; sisters, Paula Farrell (Bradley), and Nancy Smith (Steven); nieces, Amanda Griffin (Jay), Leslie Looper (Caleb), Laura Franklin Tabar (Michael), Rebekah Franklin and nephew Brandon Farrell (Nicole); 10 great nieces and nephews; and his special canine companion, Oliver. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry H. Metcalf. A Celebration of Life service will be determined at a later date.
