James W. Woodward age 85 of Gallatin, passed away September 26, 2018. Mr. Woodward was born August 26, 1933 to the late Curtis and Alma (Key) Woodward, Sr. Mr. Woodward loved his family, reading the Bible, trading cars, watching sports and going to Cracker Barrel and Mable's. He was a member of Hartsville Pike Church of Christ and a former Deacon. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Ernestine Roberts Woodward; brothers, Curtis Woodward, Jr., Larry and Jerry Woodward; a sister-in-law, Shirley Pearson Woodward; a granddaughter, Angela Robertson Gray.
James is survived by children, Richard (Debra) Woodward, Debra (Ricky) Robertson, Kevin (Kristen) Woodward; Grandchildren, Jeremy Woodward, Stephanie (Ryan) Engdahl, Brian Woodward, Stacey Robertson, Isabella Woodward, Dakota Woodward; grandson-in-law, Shawn Gray; Great- grandchildren, Cody Wade, Matthew Lopez, Alexia Woodward, Rose Woodward, Jason Woodward, Carson Gray, Jackson Gray; 3 siblings, Harry (Norma) Woodward, Wilma (Clifford) Dobbs, Gerald (Elizabeth) Woodward; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 4pm- 8pm at Alexander Funeral Home and Cremation Center and Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 1pm until service time at 3pm. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 3pm at Alexander Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Doyle Farris and Clifford Dobbs officiating. Interment to follow at Crestview Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may also be made to Hartsville Pike Church of Christ,744 Hartsville Pike, Gallatin, TN 37066

We had many happy memories as kids at your home on Duncan Ave., how I wish we could turn back the clock! Jimmy will indeed be missed, his gentleness, kindness and love for his family never wavered. He was a true gentleman in every way. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family.

So very sorry for your loss. The God of all comfort promises to bring an end to pain, outcry, sorrow, tears and our enemy DEATH. He also promise to resurrect our dead loved ones. I loved my cousin jimmy so much and I was proud to call him cousin. I am martha Ethel Woodward Jones granddaughter , TC Jones. Daughter. He always treated me like a princess. He was a kind and loving man. He will be missed by hundreds. I'm praying for all of our family in this great loss.
