Ernest "Glen" Reece, a beloved member of the Gallatin community, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 80. Born June 28, 1944, in Carthage, Tennessee, Glen was a man of remarkable character and determination who dedicated his life to serving others and enriching the lives of those around him.
Glen was known for his long-standing career as the owner and operator of Reece Auto Sales, where he worked diligently for over 50 years. His passion for classic automobiles began at a young age and remained a lifelong interest. Additionally, Glen showcased his love for music and helping others through the establishment of Reece's Jamboree, an event center he owned to host live music and support families in need by collecting canned goods. He also had a talent for building, having constructed several houses for himself before selling them. His diverse skills extended further into agriculture, as he frequently auctioned cattle, contributing to the local economy.
Those who knew Glen cherished his generous nature. Visitors at his home were often greeted with hospitality that reflected his kind heart; as he believed no one should leave empty-handed. Whether it was a sweet honeybun or a banana, you never knew what you were going to leave his home with. Glen was a faithful Christian and was described by his family as being "on fire for the Lord."
He was preceded in death by his grandfather who raised him Elder John Henry Reece and his wife, Alma; mother Hessie Lee Reece Brown; father Clifton Capps; his beloved daughter Tammy Racine; siblings Fred Lamb and Shirley Lamb; nephew Neal Lamb.
Glen is survived by his loving daughter, Tresha Terrell; son-in-law Chad Terrell, Sr.; sister, Carolyn Gibson; and a cherished group of grandchildren: Christopher Racine, Brittany (Brad Perdue, Sr.) Racine, Devin Ferguson, Keely Ferguson, Robert Ferguson, Chad Terrell, Jr., and Abigail Terrell; great-grandchildren Carter, Hayley, Eevee, Svaeda, and Bradley, Jr. He also leaves behind a son-in-law Dallas Racine; his best friend Thelma Bowers; several cousins who were like brothers to him; and a host of nieces and nephews.
