Randy Hagerla December 5, 2020 at 3:27 pmBrittany, Marshall, and Eli although we haven't met I knew Eric for many years when we were all much younger. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Eric was always a good friend and we enjoyed many good times together growing up in Enterprise. Although we lost touch I know more than anything Eric's strong love for his family. All of you are in our hearts and prayers!

H.B. Hatten December 6, 2020 at 12:04 pmI’m so sorry to learn the news of Eric’s passing. He and I were friends who lived around the corner from each other while growing up in Enterprise, AL. I have many memories of Eric from playing in the creek that ran by his house, going on multiple camping trips, playing around in their family pool and vacationing with him and his family several times in Destin, FL. I can only say to Cathy, Butch and Lee I’m so very sorry for your loss. Although we had lost touch with each other, Eric was a very big part of my youth in Enterprise and he won’t be forgotten. To Brittany, Marshall and Eli, I’m sorry we never had the opportunity to meet, but know Eric was a good friend when we were growing up. No doubt he was an excellent husband and father, too. I send my condolences to each of you and pray peace finds its way into all of your hearts!

Brittany and family,
I am devastated to learn of Eric's passing. Eric and I grew up together in Enterprise, AL, and were roommates at Auburn. Although we lost touch over the years, I will never forget him and will always cherish the great times we had together when we were younger. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Brittany and family, we have never met. My connection to Eric is from his Enterprise and Auburn days. I graduated with Lee. I watched Eric grow up with my younger brother, Scott, Randy, Soren and many others. Eric roomed with my brother at Auburn. The news of his passing was heartbreaking. Please know that he had a positive impact on many folks you never knew of. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
Jesus said these words which always bring me comfort during times of loss.
Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.

Matt Day December 22, 2020 at 7:29 pmWhen someone passes, often people will say, “I’m so sorry for your loss,” and I am truly very sorry. But honestly, losing Eric is a loss for anyone who had the good fortune to know him. I grew up near Eric and remained friends with him through high school. I can remember Butch taking us to wrestling matches when we were kids and I remember spending a lot of time in that log cabin home in Enterprise, Eric and I talking about life and friendship. I remember feeling that Eric was one of those friends who was a good person all the way down to his core. The last time we spoke was at our 10 year class reunion (so, I guess about 20 years ago). After meeting several former classmates and seeing how life had changed them, I shook hands with Eric and I remember being surprised to find that he was the same guy I had always known; like a rock, just as self-assured and level-headed as ever. And I remember wanting to find the time to hang out with him and talk some more about life and friendship and I regret not having done it. My heart and condolences go out to you all.
