Elizabeth “Ann” Wooten, age 92, of Gallatin, TN passed away in Nashville, TN on May 27th, 2024. She was born in Lafayette, TN to the late Booker and Effie Curtis on January 16th, 1932. Ann is preceded in death by her loving husband Billy Lewis Wooten, daughters Teresa Ann Tuck and Lydia Lynn Ausbrooks, and her sister Martha Jean Curtis. She is survived by her daughters Billie Jean Hale and Sharon (Barry) Walker, her grandchildren Stacey Barber, Holly (Joe) Green, Dustin (Leslie) Walker, Melissa Tuck, Laura (Gene) Raines, Trey (Stephanie) Ausbrooks, and Tiffany (Cody) McKnight. Ann is survived by her 15 great grandchildren: Cody, Tanner, Hayden, Kiara, Hannah, Aubrey, Kaitlyn, Chloe, Makenzie, Maddox, Macy, Trey, Autumn, Kaylynn, and Christalynn. She also leaves behind five great great grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Ann was a Christian woman of unwavering faith, who dedicated her life to serving her community and spreading love wherever she went. Ann was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Gallatin, where her presence radiated warmth and hospitality. Ann's proudest accomplishments revolved around giving back to others. She volunteered regularly with her church's homebound program, brightening the days of those in need with visits and thoughtful cards. Her dedication extended to supporting the church newsletter and helping at the hospital. Ann's genuine care for her community was evident in all that she did. Her passion for helping others extended to her career as a licensed hairdresser and owner of her own shop. Through her work and volunteer efforts, Ann touched the lives of many with her caring spirit.
Her family remembers her love for travel with her husband Bill, with Daytona Beach, Florida, holding a special place in their hearts. They also remember her sweet tooth that was satisfied by treats like Snickers, Turtle Pecan Blizzards, and her daily Mtn. Dew. In her leisure time, she found joy in puzzles and card games like Rook and word searches. Watching “Wheel of Fortune” with her beloved dog Missy brought her immense happiness. Family was at the center of Ann's world, and she treasured every moment spent with loved ones. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, bringing unparalleled joy to her life.
A visitation to honor Elizabeth Ann Wooten will be held on Thursday, May 30th, 2024, at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Gallatin, TN from 3:30pm until 7:30pm. We will visit again on Friday, May 21st, 2024, from 9:30am up until the time of our funeral service at 11am, followed by burial at Crestview Memory Gardens.
