Elena was a loving and caring woman. To her, her family was her life. She grew up in Marginea, Romania. Her father passed away when she was six years old during World War II. She moved to the United States in 1985, following her son and taking her family away from then communist Romania. The culture shock was immense, but Elena was able to persevere through it all, encouraging her family to learn and speak English. Keeping her cultural traditions, she always wore a head scarf. After getting settled in the states, she became comfortable enough to learn how to drive and even got her driver’s license at 48 years old. She loved the fact that she was able to drive, never missing church or prayer vigils. Elena was a member of the Bethel Romanian Church of God, in Gallatin, a member since 2005 when she moved to Tennessee. She was a homemaker. Taking very good care of her family, she was very involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. From the time that they were born she would give them their very first baths and watch over her family. She was a wonderful cook, she loved to bake and her desire was to feed anyone who walked through her door. In her free time, she liked knitting and sewing. Although she is gone, she is not forgotten.
A service will be held at the Bethel Romanian Church of God on Friday June 2nd, 2023, at 6pm. Then on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023, a service will be held at 11am, with a burial to follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens at 2pm.
