Dr. James Bowman, Dds

Dr. James (Jim) Charles Bowman, DDS passed February 23, 2022 at the age of 89 in Hendersonville, TN. He was born December 11, 1932 in Old Hickory, TN.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Dewey Bowman and Mary Alline Jones Bowman; loving wife Helen Thomas Bowman; brothers John Bowman and Bob Bowman. He is survived by (son) James Charles Bowman Jr. and (daughter-in-law) Tracey Bowman, (grandchildren) Annette and Kirk Neubauer, Clint Jackson, Natalie and Parker Campbell, Molly Bowman and (great grandchildren) Jax, Bodie and Micah Neubauer, (son) Thomas Michael Bowman and (daughter in-law) Jamie Bowman, (grandchildren) Jacie and Erik Seering, Lindsay Bowman & (fiancée) Matthew Baldwin, (great-grandson) Ryland Roberson.

Jim Bowman grew up in Old Hickory, TN graduating from DuPont High School, Tennessee Technological University and University of Tennessee School of Dentistry. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy. Practiced dentistry in Lincolnton NC from 1961 to 1970 and Gallatin, TN from 1971 to retirement in 1990. Dr. Bowman was an outstanding husband, father, sportsman, aviator, businessman and community leader contributing to the growth and development of Gallatin, TN and the state of Tennessee. He enjoyed retirement with his wife of 60 years playing golf and enjoying life between Fairfield Glade, TN, Sebring, FL and Hendersonville, TN. Dr. Jim Bowman was the true Gentleman.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., March 4th in the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Gallatin TN. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery, 800 W. Jackson St., Cookeville, TN.
