Donald Wayne Custred

Donald Wayne Custred, age 88 of Gallatin, TN, passed November 26, 2024. Wayne was born November 3, 1936, in Goodsprings, AL. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dessaree Custred; sister, Diane Custred Hice and brother, Clifford Custred. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Wandell Carter Custred; son, Glynn Custred (Claire), daughter, Terri Caniglia (Rick), granddaughters, Sara Collins (Paul), Abby Padilla (Joseph Isac) and Carly Custred; grandson, Todd Baldwin (Beth); great granddaughters, Marley Collins and Evie Baldwin; great grandson, Oliver Collins; brothers, Joe Custred (Myra) and Mike Custred (Susan). 

Wayne was a 1955 graduate of Martin High School in Goodsprings, AL. Wayne and Wandell moved from Alabama when he went to work at Gallatin Steam Plant. He retired from Gallatin Steam Plant in 1992 where he was an Assistant Unit Operator. Also, Wayne was the owner of Custred Insulation from 1977-1995. Wayne enjoyed fishing and staying at the family cabin on the Warrior River in Alabama. He dearly loved his family and will be deeply missed. 

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 29th from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Rev. Mike Corbin officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memory Gardens with Paul Collins, Todd Baldwin, Isac Padilla, Todd Freeman, Mark Fleming and Marc Carter serving as pallbearers. The visitation will be Friday, November 29th from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
