Claudia Lynn Dragon, 80, passed away peacefully at her home in Gallatin, Tennessee, on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Born May 17, 1944, in Long Beach, California, Claudia was raised in Virginia, where she cultivated her vibrant personality that would light up the lives of those around her.
Claudia’s diverse career spanned several fields, reflecting her dynamic spirit and determination. She served as a Deputy Sheriff with the Orange County Sheriff's Office in California, showcasing her commitment to public service. Following her tenure in law enforcement, she embraced her passion for education and became a dedicated elementary school teacher, touching the lives of countless students. Claudia also spent time as a flight attendant with United Airlines, allowing her to travel the country and meet people from all walks of life.
An avid reader, Claudia had a particular fondness for her Bible, which was a testament to her strong Christian faith. She exemplified a life rooted in spirituality and service, moving to middle Tennessee with her husband, Jim Dragon, in 2019 to help establish Reliance Church in Mt. Juliet. Her love for her community and her deep-rooted beliefs guided her actions and interactions throughout her life.
Claudia's creative side shined through in her love for drawing and the joy she found during family game nights. Her adventurous spirit was evident in her enjoyment of hiking, a testament to her passionate approach to life. A woman of strength and determination, Claudia was known for her vibrant personality that made each moment shared with her exciting.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence Lemke and Dorothy Crutchfield Lemke.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 24 years, Jim Dragon; her children, Richard Collins, Tanya (George) Brownridge, and Autumn (Scott) Losee; her brother, Mark (Mel) Lemke; her brother, Gary (Cindy) Lemke; her grandchildren, Carissa Collins, G.W. Brownridge, Britta (Hunter) Peden, Emma Losee, Aidan Losee, Rohan Collins, Liam Losee, Jordan Collins, and Gavin Collins; as well as her great-granddaughter, Maeven. Claudia's legacy will continue through her family, who will cherish her memory and the impact she had on their lives.
While Claudia Lynn Dragon has departed from this Earth, her spirit will remain alive in the hearts of her loved ones and all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be remembered for her beautiful energy, unwavering faith, and the love she spread to everyone around her.
