Christine Parker Guill

Chirstine Guill, known to most as Cricket or Granny, age 91, of Gallatin, Tennessee, entered into rest on Saturday, October 7, 2023.

Christine was born on September 5, 1932, to her parents Hargis and Ila Apple, in Nashville, Tennessee.

She worked at Condra’s Grocery Store and H.G. Hills for many years in the meat department and as a cashier. This was a milestone in her life that resulted in her family legacy. Christine was also the secretary and treasurer for Gallatin Church of the Nazarene, for 30 years. She was dedicated to her huge church family, and was passionate in her faith as a Christian woman. For many years she belonged to a Ladies Group, that came to be known as the Golden Bells. Christine was also a pillar in her family and could be described as the matriarch. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, to her own kin, and many others. Her family and friends will cherish their memories with her, and remember how you could depend on Christine.

Christine Parker (Apple) Guill is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Guill) McKinnon; great grandson, Aaron Downs (Elena Elsing); great great grandsons, Elliott Downs, Lincoln Downs; and her many nieces, nephews, and cousin.

She was preceded in death by her father, Hargis Cecil Apple; Mother, Ila Vestie (Autrey) Apple; husband, Leon Guill; grandson, Scot Downs; her 8 brothers and siters, Donald, Henry, Cecil, Hubert, Ann Marie, Mary, Nelson, and Polly; and countless other friends and loved ones.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that donations to be made to Alexander Funeral Home and Cremation Center to assist with funeral expenses, or to Gallatin First Church of the Nazarene directly.

Visitation will take place at Alexander Funeral Home and Cremation Center, on Friday, October 13, 2023, starting at 10:00 A.M., and will continue until time of service at 1:00 P.M.. Pastor Mike Blankenship (Pastor B) will be officiating services. Burial will immediately follow in Crestview Memory Gardens, located 1623 Hwy 109 N., Gallatin, TN, 37066.
