Charles Aston

Mr. Charles Roy Aston, age 99, passed away on November 7, 2021. He was born on August 8, 1922 to the late Fred Cleveland Aston and Annie Magnolia Smith Aston. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Erwin Aston; siblings, Betty Chandler, Fred Aston, and Boyce Aston.

Charles was a proud World War II Veteran (7th Armored Division of the United States Army.) He saw action in Europe under General Patton. He was an avid bird hunter who raised and trained bird dogs. He was a member of Lagardo Church of Christ, Bird Hunters Hall of Fame, and the National Bird Hunters Association. Charles first moved to Gallatin, TN in 1954 with his wife, where they would raise their family.

Charles is survived by his children, Kathleen Aston Kimble(Carl), Melissa Aston Lynn(Doug), Gerrie Lynne Aston, and Charles Timothy Aston(Tracy); grandchildren, David Tate Litts, Tammy Elizabeth McDougal, Allison Blevins, Todd Blevins, Brian Aston, and Greg Aston. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.

A life celebration will be held at 11am, Friday, November 12th in the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Family will receive friends from 4-8pm on Thursday evening and again from 10-11am prior to the service on Friday. Burial will take place at McCain’s Cemetery in Columbia, TN at 2pm on Friday.
