Brian Getty

Brian Getty, age 81, of Castilian Springs, passed away September 27, 2024. He was born in Liverpool, England on November 8, 1942. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcom and Hannah Getty, brother, Ken Getty, and wife June Getty. Brian is survived by his stepchildren, Danny Sellars, Darryl Wesley Sellars, Pat Soey, Becky Wilson, and his partner and love of his life of 27 years, Beth Sellars, her children, Darryl Sellars and Meghan Sellars, and his beloved dog DeeDee. 

Brian was a typical Englishman. With a stiff upper lip, he was set in his ways. He was said to have been a strong and affectionate individual. At heart, he was a funny guy who loved his people. He was a lover of all animals, he especially loved to take his dogs down to the ocean for them to play. 

Brian was in the English Air Force; he was a codebreaker who helped to decode messages during WWII. He worked as a pipefitter and was a member of the Alabama Boilermakers Local 455 up until the time of his retirement. Brian was also a man of Christian faith who attended Longview Missionary Baptist Church in Gallatin, TN. Although he is gone, his memory will not be forgotten. 

A visitation with the family will be at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center, located at 584 Nashville Pike, Gallatin, TN 37066, on Saturday October 5, 2024, from 11am until 2pm.
