Our sweet mother, granny, and sister has gone to be with Jesus. Bobbie loved with all her heart and lived to bring joy to her family. Her greatest pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren-all 52 of us. And yet, she had a remarkable way of making each of us feel like we were her one and only. That was her gift: a love so big and so genuine, you felt it every time she looked at you. Bobbie was our best friend, our biggest supporter, and the heart of our family. She was also the best cook around-nothing could compare to a meal made by her loving hands. We’ll miss her more than words can say, but we’re comfortable knowing she’s now at peace and surrounded by the love she gave so freely. Bobbie was a devoted Christian woman, who attended First Baptist Church of Gallatin. She and her husband found the Lord in 1960, and they led their children with great faith, which influenced the whole family. Bobbie was born on September 19, 1931, in Smithland, Kentucky. She departed this world at the age of 93, on November 12, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Bobbie Jean (Martin) Fulkerson is survived by her children, Danny Fulkerson (Rhonda), Diane Hinson (Don), Randy Fulkerson (Sherry), Tana Ward (Doug), and Lori Gregory (Foster); grandchildren, Leslie Anderson (Jason), Tyler Hinson (Susan), Katherine Warren (Chris), Alysa Hibbard (Chad Wiser), Benson Fulkerson (Allison), Brandon Ward (April), John Gregory (Kaytie), Racheal Brazel (Dillion), Emily Downs (Justin); great-grandchildren, Maddie Anderson, Carter Anderson, Kennedi Hinson, Kayleigh Hinson, Isabella Hibbard, Charlotte Hibbard, Mallory Hibbard (Langon Wiser), Rosalee Fulkerson, Rhett Fulkerson, Kolby Noble, Kira Noble, Lilly Nota, Landon Ward, Layla Ward, Olivia Downs, Jillian Downs, Garrett Downs, Sam Gregory, Finley Gregory, John Solon Gregory, Ellie Gregory, Charlie Brazel, Owen Brazel; and sisters, Martha Lovelace (Jay), and Jackie Hughes.
She was preceded in death by husband of 34 years, John Robert Fulkerson; father, James Allen Martin; mother, Byrd (Boswell) Martin; and 5 siblings.
Visitation with the Fulkerson family will take place on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center, from 4:00 P.M., until 7:00 P.M.; and again on Friday, November 15, from 10:00 A.M., until service time at 12:00 P.M. Interment will immediately follow in Sumner Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the Fulkerson family kindly request that memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church of Gallatin, for the connected building fund, or a memorial of your choice.
Proverbs 3: 15-17 She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
