Bob Thurman

Bob Thurman, age 73, of Bethpage, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024. 

He was born in Gallatin, Tennessee, on January 15, 1951, to his parents Roy and Jane Thurman. Bob attended Trousdale Highschool and was in the graduating class of 1969. He was proud to have been a Yellow Jacket. Shortly after graduation, Bob served in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he owned and operated a service station in Gallatin for many years. Ultimately Bob retired as a master electrician, working for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). 

Outside of work, Bob enjoyed being a member of the Austin-Healy Club. He was not only a sports car enthusiast, but a talented mechanic who was known to fix anything. Bob also seized the opportunity to travel and was delighted to go on trips. He will be dearly missed by many. 

“Bob” Robert Reese Thurman, is survived by his sons, Chris Thurman (Candice), and Philip Thurman; brother, Don Thurman (Katherine); his sweetheart, Sandra Hardaway; and his four feline fur babies, Muffin, Spicey, Boots, and Mama Cat. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Sue Thurman; son, Corey Thurman; father, Roy Henry Thurman; mother, Jane (Roberts) Thurman; sisters, Faye McWhirter, Frankie Tucker; and brother, Bill Thurman.

Visitation with the Thurman Family will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, October 21, and continue until time of service, at 2:00 P.M.

 A celebration of life in honor of Bob Thurman, will be held at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center, on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. Friends and family will be encouraged to share their memories together. 

Burial in Crestview Memory Gardens will immediately follow funeral services.
